The process of descaling is one of the most important maintenance activities. Very often failures of espresso machines are caused by "calcification" of the device. In practice, this means that lime deposits formed in the coffee machine as a result of high water hardness reduce the possible flow. As a result of this process, the device makes coffee very slowly with a reduced temperature of the drink and completely changes its taste. Decalcification of the coffee maker should be carried out regularly to avoid the above-mentioned problems and extend the life of our device.
Jura E8 Step-by-Step Decalcification
If the espresso machine in the cockpit and during shutdown displays a red pictogram with the word "Decalcification", the decalcification process should be carried out.
We use a cleaning agent COFFIX Descaler ECO, which is ideal for descaling the JURA E8 espresso machine.
We carry out the process as follows:

Worth knowing
Two important factors affect the frequency of the descaling process:
Set water hardness - When we first start up, we test and set the water hardness of our appliance to determine the water parameters and the frequency of the descaling process. Therefore, it is important that the water hardness is tested correctly.
Water filter - Use of a water filter COFFIX CF101(High-quality filter replacement - like Jura Claris) improves the taste of the coffee, but most importantly reduces the amount of limescale deposited inside the machine. So it's worth taking care of your machine and changing the water filter regularly.
