Changing the water filter in the Jura S8 espresso machine is one of the basic steps that help keep the machine in excellent condition. Filtered water not only affects the better taste of coffee, but also effectively reduces the accumulation of limescale, which translates into longer life and trouble-free operation of the machine.

Jura S8 filter replacement step by step

If the coffee machine displays a red pictogram with the word "Filter", it means that we need to replace the water filter. If we use a replacement filter, the coffee machine will not display the information about the need to replace the filter, we must remember to do it ourselves.

Take out the water tank and remove the used water filter.
Unpack the filter COFFIX CF101 and fill directly with tap water for about 1 minute.
Immerse the filter in water turned top down for at least 5 minutes to fill and vent.
After waiting time, the filter is installed in the water tank.
Fill the water tank to capacity
We set up the water tank with a new filter COFFIX CF101.
The screen will ask for "Filter mode", select "No filter".
Next, we enter the settings of the machine (Slide MENU with the button at the bottom of the screen and select the green pictogram with the cogwheel) and lower the water hardness of the machine by 8 degrees.
We save the water hardness settings.
In order to fully vent the filter, it is necessary to have an unblocked drink - hot water.
Stand the vessel under the coffee spout and turn on the hot water.
We take the substituted vessel.

Worth knowing

The COFFIX CF101 filter does not have an RFID chip like the original, so the machine will not notify us when it needs to be replaced. At the time of installing the replacement, we recommend setting a notification on your phone so that you do not forget to replace the filter.
It is necessary to reduce the hardness of the water so that the machine will remind itself to descale at appropriate intervals.
After installing the filter COFFIX CF101 in the tank, the flap of the water tank will stand out slightly.
After starting hot water, the coffee maker may be noisy at first due to the venting of the water filter.
