The Melitta Barista T coffee maker prepares excellent black and milk coffees. In order to maintain the quality of the beverages you make, you should regularly rinse and clean the brewing unit. The purpose of cleaning the brewing unit is to remove sediment and coffee grease that accumulates inside the machine, which impedes water flow and can lead to malfunctions.

We distinguish between two cleaning activities:

Rinsing the brewing unit - carry out once a week and when cleaning the brewing unit with a tablet.

We turn off the device.
Remove the side cover.
Hold the red button on the brewing handle and turn the handle, then pull out the brewing unit.
Rinse the brewer thoroughly with warm water only.
Dry the brewer and wipe the outside.
Using a damp cloth, wipe the coffee residue inside the device.
Put the brewer in place and turn the handle while holding the red button until it snaps into place.
We put on the side cover.

Cleaning the brewing unit with a tablet - carry out once a month or when the machine calls on the panel to clean the coffee brewing module, using COFFIX Cleaning Tablets.

Hold down the MENU/OK button for more than 2 s to enter the menu.
Go to the Maintenance tab and select Cleaning the coffee circuit.
We run the program.
Empty the drip tray and insert with the grounds container set under the spout of the machine.
The express will rinse itself.
Drop one COFFIX Cleaning Tablet into the ground coffee opening.
The machine performs cleaning.

The espresso machine performs a rinse
Empty the drip tray and grounds container and put them back in place.

Worth knowing

Contamination of the brewing unit leads to failure of the machine and deterioration of the taste of the beverages prepared.
Rinsing the brewing unit is as important a process as cleaning with the COFFIX tablets.
Do not use any cleaning agents to rinse the brewing unit.
Perform all cleaning processes regularly.
