Melitta Barista T - Cleaning the milk system

The Melitta Barista T coffee maker allows you to prepare different types of milk coffees. Systematic cleaning of the milk system reduces the risk of damaging the frothing nozzle and guarantees drinks with perfectly frothy, creamy milk.

In the Melitta Barista T espresso machine we carry out 3 cleaning operations of the milk system:

• Cleaning the milk system EASY CLEANING - We carry them out at the end of each day if milk coffees were prepared.
• Cleaning the milk system - carry out once a week, using a liquid COFFIX Cappuccino Cleaner.
• Cleaning the milk module - carry out after each cleaning of the milk system.

Melitta Barista T Cleaning the milk system step by step

• EASY CLEANING - perform at the end of the day, if milk coffees were prepared.

1. After making the last milk coffee of the day, press the OK button to start EASY CLEANING.
2. Plug the milk hose into the tray.
3. Set the dish under the milk spout.
4. We confirm on the screen.
5. The machine performs a short rinse.
6. When finished, we empty the substituted vessel.

The express is ready.

• Cleaning the milk system - We carry them out once a week, using a liquid COFFIX Cappuccino Cleaner.

1. Go to MENU by holding down the MENU/OK button for more than 2 seconds.
2. Go to the Maintenance tab and select >Cleaning the milk circuit<..
3. We start the program with the Start button.
4. Prepare the cleaning agent:

• Prepare 30 ml of COFFIX Cappuccino Cleaner.
• Prepare a dish with 500 ml of water
• Pour the detergent into a dish with water
• We put the milk hose into the vessel with the cleaning solution

5. Confirm with the OK button.
6. Set the empty grounds container under the machine's spout and confirm on the screen.
7. The machine performs cleaning of the milk system.
8. After emptying the cleaning solution, plug the milk hose into the drip tray and confirm on the screen.
9. The espresso machine starts rinsing.
10. When you're done, empty the provided grounds container and put it back in place and rinse the milk hose by hand.

Done.

• Cleaning the milk module

Once a week, in addition to cleaning the milk system with liquid, it's a good idea to remove and take apart the milk module and rinse it with hot water. In the case of strong contamination, it is worth immersing the components of the milk module in a fortified solution COFFIX Cappuccino Cleaner (e.g., 250 ml of water and 30 ml of cleaning fluid) for about 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Worth knowing

• Irregular cleaning of the milk system leads to microbial buildup inside the frothing nozzle and its failure.
• If the machine shows further problems with milk frothing after cleaning the milk system, it is worth taking the frothing nozzle apart and cleaning each one in turn.
• Be sure to take apart and clean the milk frothing nozzle once a week.
