The process of descaling is one of the most important maintenance activities. Very often failures of espresso machines are caused by "calcification" of the device. In practice, this means that lime deposits formed in the coffee machine as a result of high water hardness reduce the possible flow. As a result of this process, the device makes coffee very slowly with a reduced temperature of the drink and completely changes its taste. Decalcification of the device, should be carried out regularly to avoid the above-mentioned problems and extend the life of our device.

Decalcification of the appliance should be carried out when it is written on the panel of the appliance, but not less than once every two months.

If using a water filter, remove it for descaling using the wrench included in the kit and immerse it in a pot of water.
We press the button for more than 2 seconds to enter the menu.
Press the button several times , until it displays
Hold down the button for more than 2 seconds to start descaling the coffee machine.
The first stage of the descaling process is started, as indicated by one coffee bean visible on the display. Empty the drip tray and insert it with the grounds container positioned under the machine's spout.
The icon appears , remove the water tank and fill with 0.5L of water for descaling.
Add 50 ml to the water tank COFFIX Descaler ECO According to the ratio of 1:10.
We put the tank with decalcification solution in place. The coffee maker begins the 2nd phase of decalcification.
Empty the drip tray and the grounds container and reposition with the grounds container set under the spout of the machine.
The icon is displayed . We remove the water tank and thoroughly rinse with warm water from the descaler residue. We fill the tank with running water to full and put it in place. The coffee maker starts rinsing from the descaling solution.
Remove and empty the drip tray and grounds container and put them back in place.
If we used a water filter, we put it back in the water tank.
We prepare the first coffee after the decalcification process, which we pour out.

The device is ready for further operation.

Two important factors affect the frequency of the descaling process:
- Set water hardness - When we first start up, we test and set the water hardness of our appliance to determine the water parameters and the frequency of the descaling process. Therefore, it is important that the water hardness is tested correctly.

So it's worth taking care of your machine and changing the water filter regularly.
