Nivona 759 - Decalcification of the appliance

It's worth taking care of your coffee machine

Decalcification is one of the key maintenance tasks for coffee machines. Many of the malfunctions of these devices are due to "scale" in the system. The lime deposits that form as a result of hard water restrict the flow, resulting in slower brewing, lowering the temperature of the beverage and degrading its taste. Regular decalcification can avoid these problems and significantly extend the life of the machine.

Nivona 759 Step-by-step decalcification

If the machine displays the message DECALCIFY THE SYSTEM this process should be performed.

To decalcify, we use a cleaning agent COFFIX Descaler ECO or Nivona measure.

  1. Use the right knob to enter the menu CONSERVATION and select DECALCIFICATION OF THE SYSTEM.
  2. Empty the drip tray and grounds container and put them back in place.
  3. We remove the water tank. If you are using a filter, remove it for descaling and immerse it in a pot of water.
  4. Fill the tank with 0.5L of water to the mark on the side of the tank.
  5. Then add 50 ml of liquid to the tank COFFIX Descaler ECO.
  6. We put in place a tank of decalcification solution.
  7. Connect the milk hose to the drip tray.
  8. Set the empty grounds container under the spout of the machine.
  9. We confirm with the right button the actions performed.
  10. The machine performs descaling of the device for about 30 minutes.
  11. Empty the drip tray and grounds container.
  12. Insert the drip tray with the grounds container set under the spout of the machine and plug the milk hose into the tray.
  13. Remove the tank and rinse thoroughly with warm water from the descaler residue.
  14. Fill the tank to capacity and put it in place.
  15. Press the right knob and confirm the steps taken.
  16. The machine rinses the machine.
  17. When finished, empty the drip tray and the substituted container and put it back in place.
  18. If we used a water filter we install it again.

The device is ready for further work.

Worth knowing

Two important factors affect the frequency of the descaling process:

  • Set water hardness - When we first start up, we test and set the water hardness of our appliance to determine the water parameters and the frequency of the descaling process. Therefore, it is important that the water hardness is tested correctly.
  • Water filter - Use of a water filter COFFIX CF103 (High-quality filter replacement - like Claris NIRF 701) improves the taste of the coffee, but most importantly reduces the amount of limescale deposited inside the machine. So it's worth taking care of your machine and changing the water filter regularly.
